Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao assured farmers that the government will deposit pending Rythu Bharosa funds in their bank accounts soon.
He said that farmers should forgive the delay in depositing Rythu Bharosa funds and that the government has implemented a farm loan waiver scheme, even though the government is facing a financial crisis.
Addressing the meeting after inaugurating the Rythu Mahotsavam programme in Nizamabad district on Monday, along with Ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao, Tummala said that farmers should use the Rythu Mahotsavam to learn how to earn huge profits with less investment.
He thanked the Centre for setting up the Turmeric Board in Nizamabad district and appealed to the Centre to bring the Turmeric Board to full use to help turmeric farmers. He also appealed to the Centre to set up turmeric-based industries and to produce turmeric products.
Tummala said that the government should make arrangements to ensure that farmers, who were affected by natural calamities, can get compensation. He said the Telangana Government is a farmers’ government, and the aim of the government is farmers’ welfare.
