Former minister and Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao has warned that the Congress government will not be spared if it fails to purchase the last grain the farmers produced in Telangana. He made these remarks at the farmers’ protest held on Saturday at Kulcharam village under Narsapur constituency in Medak district under the leadership of MLA Sunita Laxma Reddy.
The event was attended by BRS party district president Padma Devender Reddy, MLC S Subhash Reddy, Yadav Reddy, D Srinivas, MLAs Chinta Prabhakar and K Manik Rao, former MLA Chanti Kranti Kiran, Pratap Reddy, Devender Reddy, Errolla Srinivas, farmers, and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao criticised the Congress party for making false promises before coming to power. He said that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had failed to fulfil promises, including the six guarantees made to the people. He especially accused the Chief Minister of failing to implement the promise of a loan waiver. The Congress party promised to waive crop loans. Despite making vows in front of the Seven Hills Durga Temple, Medak Church, and Yadagirigutta Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, the Chief Minister failed to deliver on the promise of waiving crop loans up to Rs 2 lakh.
He mentioned that in the small village of Chinnaghanpur under Kulcharam mandal, 600 farmers still had not received loan waiver benefit.
The farmers themselves confirmed that the loan waiver benefit had not reached them, Harish Rao said.
Harish Rao also demanded that the Congress party’s padayatra (foot march) should begin not from Nalgonda, but from Nallakunta. He criticised Congress for making promises but failing to implement them and raised concerns about the party filing cases against those questioning the government.
He recalled that the previous BRS government, headed by K Chandrashekar Rao, fulfilled all promises made to people in the party manifesto.
He said the Chief Minister was busy making derogatory remarks against opponents, he said.
