Govt will review Private Security Agencies Act, says Deputy CM

Telangana Government will review the Private Security Agencies Act in due course, assured Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, here at ICCC on Friday.
Inaugurating the national summit on ‘Evolutionary Aspects of Physical Security in Digital era’, organised by the Hyderabad City Security Council (HCSC) in association with the Hyderabad Police here, Bhatti Vikramarka said, with the Private Security Agencies Act, government will also review the pending wage scale issue of the security forces in the State.
“It is highly concerning that the wages are lower than the recommended minimum scale. The government will take measures to ensure that the wages are on par with the best minimum wages across India,” Vikramarka said.  
The current growth of Hyderabad city and the increasing urbanisation of Telangana, necessiates a foolproof physical security and technology, which will play a key role in it. The private security sector plays a major role in physical security which is depicted by the fact that about 4 lakh private security personnel operate in the State, the deputy CM said. Society can be truly safe only when its citizens take the onus to be conscious of their surroundings and be vigilant towards aspects related to safety and security. This national summit will help the citizens to enhance their consciousness towards safety and security of the State,” said the deputy CM.
Vikramarka urged people to follow the recommendations made by this national summit to form safe and secure Telangana and safe India as well. “Our government is committed to develop and expand Hyderabad city. In this regard, private security agencies should get proper licence and hire rural youths and train them,” Vikramarka added.
Speaking on the occasion, K Sreenivasa Reddy, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad and Chairman of HCSC, said that today each and every establishment needs security guards and security personnel to safeguard their establishments.Hyderabad city is growing every day, so there is an urgent need to know about the best global practices towards safety and security and to adopt relevant practices towards enhancing the overall safety and security in the society, the Commissioner added.
