” Title deeds for Podu lands soon
The Congress government will soon issue title deeds (pattas) for podu lands and extend assistance to farmers for cultivating their lands, including loans, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu said. The Dharani Portal which made the lives of farmers miserable would be dumped in the Bay of Bengal, he asserted. Addressing a meeting at Pipri village in Adilabad on Wednesday, Bhatti said the government would focus on developing Adilabad district. An amount of Rs 400 crore has been allocated in the budget for the district’s irrigation projects, he said.
A discussion will be held in the Assembly and with the approval of everyone a comprehensive land legislation would be introduced, he said. Recalling his padayatra conducted before the elections as per the directive of the AICC, Bhatti said he, as CLP leader, and Revanth Reddy, as PCC President, started their yatras from Adilabad. “When I started my padayatra in the scorching heat, many thought it would be confined to two villages and would be over in a couple of days. But I completed 1,365 km interacting with the people and listening to their hardships,” he said.
