Graduates’ constituency polls Counting staff urged to adhere to guidelines

Nalgonda Collector Dasari Hari Chandana on Saturday directed the Additional Collectors, Revenue Divisional Officers and Assistant Returning Officers of 12 districts to monitor the counting process carefully for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates’ constituency by-elections to the Legislative Council. The counting is to be held on June 5.
Inspecting the training programme held for them at Udayaditya Bhavan at the Collectorate here on Saturday, she said that the first round of counting is very important. Whether opening of the seal of the ballot boxes in the presence of the contestants and agents of political parties or the conduct all other activities should be done as per the rules, she told the officials.
The contestants or election agents are prohibited from bringing fountain pens, water bottles and mobile phones into the counting centre, she said.
The officials should focus even on data entry, she said.
The counting of votes would take place on June 5 at the designated counting centre in Duppalapalli. The counting staff should be present at the centre by 6 am. She asked the staff on counting duty to discharge their duty 100 per cent error-free.
Counting of votes takes place in four halls. In all, 96 tables have been arranged for the same.
