NTR district-level Teachers’ Day celebrations were held in a grand manner at the Makineni Basavapunnaiah Vignana Kendram (MBVK) in Vijayawada on Tuesday.
As many as 48 Residential School principals, Zilla Parishad and Government school Headmasters, School Assistants, and Secondary Grade Teachers (SGT) received the best teacher awards at a programme organised by the NTR District Educational Department. AP Planning Board Vice Chairman Malladi Vishnu, District Collector Dr A Dilli Rao and others felicitated them with shawls, certificates and mementoes.
Before the start of the celebrations, Collector Dilli Rao, DEO CV Renuka, AP State Fibernet Limited Chairman P Gowtham Reddy and Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayors Avuthu Sri Sailaja and Bellam Durga started the celebrations by lighting the lamp. Later, they garlanded the portrait of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Malladi Vishnu said teachers’ influence is more on students than their parents. He suggested that teachers should teach new methods to the students by adopting changes that come in the education sector from time to time.
