Several Group-II service hopefuls organised a protest at the TSPSC office and also approached the Telangana High Court on Thursday demanding the postponement of the examination by at least three months.
Around 5,51,943 applicants have applied to appear for the exam scheduled to be held on August 29 and 30 to recruit candidates for the 783 Group-II posts.
The Education Department has already declared holidays on both days for schools to facilitate the Group-II examinations.
The candidates demanded postponement of the examinations by three months due to a change in the exam syllabus.The Osmania University, the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), Prof. Kodandaram of the Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) and Addanki Dayakar of the Congress took part in the protest. Many of the protesters were taken to the local police station while others were dispersed.
The TSPSC made it clear that the exams would not be postponed.
