The KCR-Governor bonhomie was on full display at the Telangana Secretariat with Gods as witness on the auspicious Friday of Varalakshmi Vratham.

Attended by the Governor, Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan who was the chief guest, KCR inaugurated the three places of worship of the Hindu, Muslim and Christian communities at the Dr BR Ambedkar Secretariat on Friday.

The CM inaugurated the Nalla Pochamma Temple for Hindus, a mosque for Muslims and a church for the Christians among the secretariat’s employees. KCR conducted consecration rituals along with the religious heads of the communities.

KCR accompanied the Governor for a visit to the new Secretariat. The CM explained to the Governor about the new secretariat and the facilities provided for hassle-free administration on each floor.

After that, the CM invited the Governor to his chambers, felicitated her with a shawl and presented a bouquet of flowers. Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari also honoured the Governor. Later, the CM hosted the Governor to a high tea.

The Governor enquired with the CM about the construction cost of the new secretariat and details of the facilities provided. The Governor praised KCR for constructing such a wonderful secretariat. The CM and the Governor had a friendly conversation for a while. Later, the CM gave a send-off to the Governor at the main gate of the Secretariat.

The CM and the Governor attended the puja at the temple on the secretariat premises. After attending the Chandiyagam and Purnahuti programme, the CM and the Governor attended the special pooja at the Nallapochamma Temple. A special puja was conducted at the adjoining Shiva Temple and Anjaneya Swamy Temple on the temple premises.

After attending in the idol installation ceremony at the temple, the CM and Governor took part in the inauguration of the newly constructed church. Minority Affairs Minister K. Eshwar and other public representatives welcomed the CM and the Governor.

Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan cut the ribbon and entered the church along with the CM, public representatives and officials. After a Bible reading by Bishop MA Daniel in the presence of the CM, the Governor cut the cake and presented it to the religious heads and the CM.

Later, the CM reached the mosque built next to the church. The Imams and other Muslim clerics welcomed the Chief Minister and Governor in Islamic tradition. The CM attended the religious programme organised according to Islamic traditions.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM said, “It is an auspicious occasion. Let Allah’s grace be upon us and let brotherhood flourish. The government will continue its efforts to maintain religious harmony. It is a happy occasion that a new mosque has been built on the secretariat’s premises. Temples, mosques and churches should be opened to reflect the country’s diversity. The Telangana secretariat stands as the best example of unity. Hindu, Muslim and Christian brothers are living and praying together. Let the whole of India learn from Telangana. I hope that all communities will live in peace and harmony forever.”
