YSRTP President YS Sharmila sent a letter to the Governor, Dr Tamilisai Sounderarajan, on Thursday seeking her immediate intervention to get a progress report of the SIT’s investigation into the role of the IT department in the TSPSC leakage scam.

In her letter, Sharmila requested the Governor to seek a progress report from the SIT on its investigation into the role of the Telangana IT department and some of its officials as per the Information Technology Act, 2000, which says that the tampering of computer source documents and the hacking of systems are serious offences.

“We appeal to you to exercise your constitutional powers as this has become a crucial element, particularly, when the probe is being conducted under the supervision of the government whose role itself is under the scanner,” Sharmila told the Governor in her letter.

She also wanted the Governor to seek clarity from the SIT on disclosing investigation progress. The public is extremely concerned that the investigation is limited to some pawns, while the big fish has got a safe escape route.

The Enforcement Directorate has also swung into action probing the money laundering aspect and international connections, she said.
