Guv unveils revamped Para-Sports Academy

Governor Jishnu Dev Varma inaugurated the revamped high-performance Para-Sports Academy on Thursday, a facility designed to empower para-athletes with advanced training and rehabilitation resources. The academy features state-of-the-art equipment and world-class coaching to meet the unique needs of para-athletes, creating excellence and inclusivity.
Later, the Governor felicitated Arshad Shaik and Jyoti Gaderiya, who represented India at the Paralympics, Prashant Arkal, who won silver at the Asian Paracycling Road Event in Kazakhstan, Yogesh Ahire, who secured bronze at the same event, Aryavardan Cheelampalli and Pawan Kanoji, who earned multiple medals at the Asian Cycling and Track Championships.
Young athletes from JNV Rangareddy also won 16 medals at the World Ability Games, showcasing India’s emerging talent. The event featured distinguished guests, including Special Chief Secretary for Sports and IT, Jayesh Ranjan, who emphasised the academy’s vision for inclusivity and global excellence.
Aditya Mehta, Founder of Aditya Mehta Foundation (AMF), highlighted the academy’s mission to propel athletes toward glory, particularly at the Paralympics 2028. Recently, the foundation’s para-athletes brought pride to India by excelling at the World Ability Games in Thailand and other international events.
