Police assume that murder took place during robbery

A gynaecologist, named Dr Macherla Radha, was brutally murdered in Machilipatnam in Krishna district by unknown miscreants at midnight on Tuesday. Dr Radha and her husband Dr Macharla Maheswara Rao have been running Sri Venkateswara Mother and Child Hospital at Javvarpet of Machilipatnam.
Dr Maheswara Rao is a well-known paediatrician in the area. They both run the hospital in a building where they are also residing.
On Tuesday night, Dr Maheswara Rao went to the ground floor of the building where the clinic is located. He called up his wife so many times, but she didn’t respond. When he went to his house to check, he saw Dr Radha lying in a pool of blood and informed the police.
After receiving the information, the cops reached the spot and found that Dr Radha’s throat was slit. The police also found that her ornaments had been stolen.
Machilpatanm DSP Madhava Reddy and Inaguduru CI Umamaheswara Rao examined the body and surroundings to find any clues. Later, they deployed a dog squad.
The police also formed special teams to investigate the case. They primarily assumed that the murder took place during robbery. They registered a case and sent the body to Machilpatnam for postpartum.
Meanwhile, Krishna district in-charge SP Ravi Prakash, along with Additional SP Srihari, inspected the spot and spoke with the family members.
