Now the world of OTT platforms is giving the very talented actress Hansika Motwani a fair chance to captivate her audiences through her upcoming web series, MY3. The series is billed as a robotic love story, and the poster shows Hansika as a humanoid robot named Mythri or MY3.
Hansika has played so many memorable characters, especially for our Telugu film industry, that with her debut on the OTT platform, she is looking to receive major rewards just for her efforts. So we go ahead and have an exclusive interaction with the lead actress! What’s really so likeable about the actress is how, every time we interview her, she quickly shows that solitude for every Tollywood interview we do with her. Let’s not wait anymore and dive straight into the deets of the upcoming web series and also bringing you the exclusive tidbits from another popular movie that she is going to be a part of! “I am literally playing the character of a robot—at first when I was going through the narration, I was seemingly very glad about it, but when I touched up on the context of doing dual roles, that seemed more interesting to me to sign up for this series. To us actors what happens is the narrations seems very easy but the real game starts on the set location! And this genre is certainly not dead, I see a lot of rom-coms working on television. Frankly speaking, I am a die hard romantic! I don’t even wait for weekends to binge watch, I love watching romcom so much that you will find a certain prejudice in me for it. Since we are talking so much about OTT, let me tell you an interesting facet of me in regards to it, which is that I just cannot go to sleep without completing the entire web series in one go,” shared the actress who has headlined this robotic love story so well.
Romcoms should just make you smile, feels Hansika! So whenever she is signing for such movies, she looks for colours and she looks for happiness so that she is able to showcase the same for her audiences through on screen portrayal. She still remembers one of her films, Romeo and Juliet, which turned out to be a very iconic rom com for all of them. To her, basically, these movies are just about two partners coming together at the end of all the brawl that is happening! The actress continued, “My debut is actually an adaptation of a Korean drama. Playing the role of a robot is not as easy as it sounds! I was not supposed to blink for almost 4 minutes. And I had to showcase that I am not breathing, which is so hysterical.”
So let’s hope for the best that robot romance becomes the biggest trend in our dreamland of cinema. The actress and her fans are terribly excited! Then there is a Tamil film, Partner, on the cards as well, where Hansika is paired opposite Adhi Pinisetty: the movie is releasing tomorrow. The movie star shared, “I have worked with the producer before, and it was him who was determined to cast me. Now because I have never done a science fiction film before in my career I signed up for this! The director ensured that there is still some logic to find in a movie like this so that the trolls do not attack us on unnecessary judgements. We are actors and we must take a leap of faith so a drama little here and there should be okay for the fans. The character that I am playing is not a tomboy and every actress would love to play me. This girl is actually the boy of the film, if you know you know! There was a very thin line for me to be a caricature or go over the top, and I restrained myself from doing so.” Thank God for the fact that the director and the producer were on the same page—they only wanted Hansika Motwani to be on board for the film. The change happens in the film when she turns into Yogi Babu, so she started to immediately work on her body language and had to change into his attire. So how she prepared was that she started to watch a lot of his movies and imitate his mannerisms! Even when the shoot began, Hansika spoke to Yogi Babu a few times just to get his character and graph right. At the same time, she did not want to make the whole character only about Yogi Babu; otherwise, where would Hansika Motwani be? Since Hansika admits that both of us have our own unique identities, we couldn’t have let it go!
At the end of the day, she wanted to make the character hers, and that’s not selfish. “After every cut, I used to go to the monitor and see all the guys laughing on the sets. There was a song sequence that I did where the director asked me to actually go into the club
and check out our girls just as boys do, and that was so hilarious to me being a girl.”
