Minister for Health T Harish Rao made a surprise visit to the Jagtial Maternity and Child Health Centre on Saturday. The visit was aimed at assessing the performance of doctors and staff and interacting with patients.
During his visit, the Minister inspected each department, interacting with pregnant women and their attendants to understand the quality of medical services provided.
Listening to patient’s feedback was of paramount importance to the Minister. He inquired about treatment quality, medicine availability, and potential areas for improvement. He assured prompt action to address any concerns raised.
The Minister expressed satisfaction with the hospital’s efficient medicine supply and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing comprehensive medical support to all patients. He encouraged citizens to utilise the hospital’s facilities and reduce dependence on private healthcare services, aligning with Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s vision for a healthier Telangana.
Visiting the children’s inpatient ward, Harish Rao inquired about the health of the children and offered words of encouragement to their parents.
He emphasised the importance of availing of all necessary medical tests and treatments within the hospital, citing the availability of advanced medical equipment and skilled professionals.
Following the hospital tour, a review meeting was held with the Hospital Superintendent and doctors. District Collector, local MLA Sanjay Kumar, and Jagityala District ZP Chairperson were present during the meeting.
During the meeting, the Minister expressed concern over doctors not adhering to duty timings, particularly between 9 am and 4 pm. He directed officials to take appropriate action against any violations and unauthorised leaves.
He stressed the significance of timely medical care during emergencies and urged doctors to work cohesively to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services, echoing Chief Minister KCR’s vision for accessible healthcare.
Additionally, the Minister instructed the hospital authorities to implement a biometric attendance system for doctors, ensuring accurate and transparent attendance records.
