Minister for Finance T Harish Rao on Sunday paid a surprise visit to Rythu Bazaar and enquired about the security and facilities there. He pulled up Estate Officer Prabhakar for failing to keep the premises of the Rythu Bazaar clean and tidy.
The Minister inspected the premises and interacted with the farmers who would visit the Rythu Bazaar every day. He spoke to a woman farmer selling drumsticks and asked her whether she was able to secure remunerative price. She told the Minister that she was selling drumsticks at the rate of Rs 50 a kg.
She was drumstick cultivation on a five-acre plot and she was happy as water was abundantly available in the district.fi
Harish Rao spoke to farmers selling turmeric, chilli powder and others. He advised the farmers to export their produce to Hyderabad markets too.
