Former minister and BRS MLA T Harish Rao on Wednesday said that the BRS has been providing accidental insurance to the party activists and assured that the party leadership will take the party rank and file under its wings.
In case of accidental death of the party workers, the bereaved family will receive Rs 2 lakh towards accident insurance, he clarified.
So far, bereaved families of 48 BRS activists received a total of Rs 96 lakh towards insurance at the rate of Rs 2 lakh for each bereaved family, he said.
He quoted the example of the party workers Sunchanakota Yadagir of Nangunurumandal who recently died in a drowning incident. He distributed Rs 2 lakh cheque to the bereaved family of Yadagiri on Wednesday.
BRS mandal president A Lingam Goud, former MPP J Srikant Reddy, BRS leaders Yedla Somireddy, PACS chairman Ramesh Goud, MPTC Sunita Mahender and others were present on the occasion.
