BRS MLA Harish Rao who went to the SLBC tunnel to take stock of the situation was stopped by the authorities. He protested briefly and launched a broadside at the Telangana government, accusing it of complete inaction during the ongoing SLBC tunnel rescue operations.
He said that six crucial days were wasted without any meaningful efforts to rescue the trapped workers.
“For six days, the government has done nothing but delay and mislead. Not a single effective step has been taken. This is criminal negligence,” he said while addressing the media at the site.
He criticized the administration for failing to clear the debris or make progress in the rescue operation. “What should have been done in 24 hours has not been done in six days. This isn’t just inefficiency. It’s a complete breakdown of governance,” he said.
Harish questioned the absence of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy from the site, pointing out that he was busy with election campaigns instead. He alleged that some ministers were making brief visits without taking any decisive action.
“Who is leading this operation? What’s the plan? Who is responsible? It’s clear the government has no direction. Are they waiting for a miracle?” he asked.
He highlighted the non-functional conveyor belt, which he said was crucial for clearing debris, and criticized officials for their failure to fix it promptly.
