Harish Rao submits 17 Cut Motions in Assembly

BRS MLA Harish Rao has submitted 17 cut motions in the Telangana Legislative Assembly, highlighting various issues across multiple departments. The motions were presented as part of the demands for grants for the fiscal year 2024-2025, aiming to reduce the allotments by Rs 100 each for several departments
Among the departments targeted were Fiscal Administration, Planning, Surveys and Statistics; Energy, Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Excise Administration, Home Administration, Transport Administration, Backward Classes Welfare, School Education, and Medical and Health.
Harish Rao pointed out several issues in the Fiscal Administration, Planning, Surveys and Statistics department, aiming to reduce the allotment of Rs15876, 20,81,000. He cited problems related to seniority standards, pending bills, and other irregularities. Additionally, he highlighted the backlog of 5 DA bills, PRC issues, and pending GPF bills as reasons for the proposed reduction.
In the Energy sector, Harish Rao proposed to reduce the allotment of Rs 12086,27,27,000  due to budget allocations for transformers and poles, and addressing the problems of  Yadadri Power Plant. He emphasised the need for better financial management and resolution of these critical issues to ensure uninterrupted power supply. For the Municipal Administration and Urban Development department, he suggested reducing the allotment of Rs 15533,21,44,000. He pointed out the pending FC bills and development issues in Siddipet and other towns, stressing the importance of timely completion of urban development projects for the welfare of the citizens. Regarding the Excise Administration, he focused on issues related to specific brands such as Som distilleries, Bhoom Bhoom Beer, and Beeriyani Beer, proposing to reduce the allotment of Rs 413,01,90,000. He emphasised the need to address these issues to streamline the excise duties and ensure proper regulation. In the Home Administration department, he proposed reducing the allotment of Rs 9563,68,43,000 due to various incidents of crimes such as murders, dacoits, chain snatching, and robberies.

Harish Rao stressed the need for enhanced security measures and better law enforcement to maintain public safety. For the Transport Administration, Harish Rao proposed a reduction in the allotment of Rs 3204,27,17,000, citing issues related to the RTC workers and other transportation concerns. He emphasized the need for resolving these issues to ensure efficient public transportation services. In the Backward Classes Welfare department, he suggested reducing the allotment of Rs.9200,32,12,000 due to concerns over the effectiveness of various development programs aimed at uplifting the backward classes. Harish Rao highlighted the importance of proper implementation and monitoring of these programs to achieve the desired outcomes. Harish Rao’s motions reflect a thorough review of the current allocations and underscore his commitment to improving governance in Telangana. Each motion pointed to specific concerns within the departments, ranging from pending bills, budget allocations for equipment, and administrative inefficiencies to issues related to excise duties, urban development projects, and health services.
