Senior BRS MLA Harish Rao lashed out at the Congress Government for its failure to procure paddy and accused it of neglecting farmers and prioritising other issues.
Visiting the IKP Centre in the Irkode village of Siddipet mandal on Wednesday, he inspected paddy soaked in rains and assured farmers of total support.
Directing officials to immediately commence procurement of damaged, sprouting paddy, Harish said farmers should not suffer due to the inefficiency of the administration. He pointed out that during the tenure of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao procurement delays were unheard of.
“Revanth shows more interest in beauty contests than in farmers’ problems,” he said sharply.
He said the Congress Government has completely failed in handling paddy procurement and is unable even to provide gunny bags to farmers.
He accused the Chief Minister of playing with farmers’ lives and demanded that if governance is difficult, Revanth should step down. “Farmers are struggling, paddy is sprouting in stocks, but the government is unmoved,” Harish said.
