Roads and Buildings (R&B) Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that BRS MLA T. Harish Rao had asked the government to appoint a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the alleged irregularities in the Outer Ring Road (ORR) lease tenders only to fix former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his son KT Rama Rao.
Addressing the media on Sunday, he said that Harish had made the demand only to fix his uncle and cousin. The Chief Minister accepted Harish’s demand and had ordered the constitution of a SIT to probe the ORR lease scam, he added.
Venkat made it clear the SIT will probe the alleged irregularities in granting the ORR lease and the law will take its own course.
Targeting KTR, Venkat said that thieves involved in the Formula E-Car Racing were found and that the thieves behind granting ORR lease tenders would also be detected one day.
He said that the Regional Ring Road (RRR) is a turquoise necklace around Hyderabad city and that it got Central permission in 2017. However, it could not be completed as the BRS Government was in deep slumber.
Venkat said that he had met the Union Minister of Road Transport and National Highways, Nitin Gadkari, and had ensured that the tender process for RRR North was launched. He said the RRR road will cover 50 per cent of Telangana and the RRR will play a key role in the development of Hyderabad.
