HC gives permission to T-SAVE’s hunger strike

Must read

The High Court gave conditional permission to the all-party hunger strike against the BRS government demanding that it provide jobs to unemployed youth.

Delivering its judgement on Friday, the High Court said that participants in the hunger strike should not exceed 500 and that the organisers must inform the police 48 hours in advance.

YSRTP President YS Sharmila had filed a petition in the High Court requesting it to direct the government to give permission for their hunger strike at Indira Park.

The police refused permission to the proposed April 17 all-party hunger strike organised by the YSRTP. Challenging the police order, Sharmila approached the High Court seeking permission for the hunger stir.

Sharmila told the High Court that they had submitted an application seeking permission for their hunger strike in the context of the TSPSC leakage scam.

Reacting to the High Court verdict, Sharmila said that it is a good sign that the HC permitted their protest. The High Court verdict indicates that justice is very much alive even though dictator KCR tried to suppress protests and arrested those questioning him, she said.

Sharmila made it clear that her party will fight the State government till it fills the 1.91 lakh vacant posts jobs in TS government service as per the Biswal Committee recommendations.
