The Telangana High Court directed the TS government to continue the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the Moinabad farmhouse TRS MLAs’ attempt to poach case. The HC directed the SIT to submit its final report to a High Court single Judge in a sealed cover on November 29.
The HC said the single judge will monitor the probe going on under the supervision of Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand. The HC said the probe should be transparent and directed the Police Commissioner not to leak details of the probe to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), officials, the media or politicians.
The HC also warned the Hyderabad CP that he will have to take responsibility if details of the probe come out and will have to face action. The court stated that Justice Vijayasen Reddy will monitor the probe.
Meanwhile, the counsel for the government expressed regret over leaking investigation details about KCR’s case and its CD at a press meet. He assured that such incidents will not be repeated.
It may be recalled that BJP general secretary Gujjula Premender Reddy filed a writ asking the High Court to hand over the Moinabad farmhouse MLAs’ attempt to poach case to the CBI or order a probe by a sitting judge into it as they have no confidence in the SIT appointed by the TS police. He also urged the High Court to continue the stay.
Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar welcomed the High Court directions regarding the Moinabad farmhouse MLAs’ poaching case. He expressed happiness at the High Court order that the probe should be monitored by an HC judge.
He said the BJP too wanted the probe to be monitored by a sitting HC judge. Now there is a chance that the probe will be held transparently due to the HC directions, he said.
Sanjay said the TRS government has been conspiring to damage the BJP’s image.
The CM’s press conference held to level charges against the BJP is the best example of the TRS government trying to defame the BJP, he said. The HC’s comments on the CM’s press meet are commendable, Sanjay said.
He said the BJP welcomed the High Court’s directions not to reveal details of the SIT investigation and to submit the report to a single Judge on November 29.He said that persons who committed offences must be punished and that the BJP and the people of Telangana hope for the same. He added that the BJP has confidence in the HC.
He said that facts will come out in the probe and that the BJP hopes that those behind the conspiracy will be punished.
Petitioner Premender said that they welcome the HC order that the SIT probe should be conducted under the supervision of an HC Judge and that the investigation report should be submitted to the Judge in a sealed cover. The BJP thinks that those who wrote the Moinabad farmhouse story are the bigwigs of Pragathi Bhavan, he said.
