A three-judge bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Friday reserved the Judgment on the petitions filed challenging the construction of houses for the poor in R-5 zone in Amravati.

The court heard the argument from the petitioners and the AP government for construction of houses in R-5 zone in Amaravati.

The counsel on behalf of the government argued that the High Court and the Apex court has not issued a stay order on GO 45, so it is deemed that there is no objection for the construction of houses in R5 zone in Amaravati.

The counsel further said that a section of people are intentionally creating hurdles in the houses construction for the poor in Amaravati.

He pointed out that 1656 acres of land in Amaravati was sold by Chandrababu and no one responded to it.

He stated that as the master plan was wrong, an amendment was made to the plan.

He also pointed out that as per CRDA Act 5 per cent land can be given to the poor and the land was given to the homeless poor for construction of houses as per law.

On the other hand CM Jagan Mohan Reddy will lay the foundation for the construction of 47,000 houses for the houseless poor women and the government will construct the houses for the beneficiaries in R5 zone of Amaravati region on July 24
