Centillion Networks’ subsidiary HC Robotics would invest Rs 500 crore in Telangana, IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said. The investment would create 500 jobs this year and will increase to around 2,000 in the next three years.
Addressing a press conference at the secretariat on Friday, he emphasised Telangana’s commitment to empowering youth through employment.
“With its headquarters in Hyderabad, Centillion Networks operates in nine countries, specialising in drone technology, telecommunications, robotics and aerospace software. This expansion will solidify Telangana’s image as a hub for innovation and advanced technology,” he stated.
He highlighted the government’s focus on taking IT growth beyond Hyderabad. “For years, investments were limited to Hyderabad. We are now ensuring expansion by IT firms into Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities so that youth in rural and semi-urban areas also will benefit. Centillion Networks has already launched operations in Karimnagar, and more companies are set to follow,” he noted.
Addressing concerns of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), Sridhar assured that the government is trying to clear ?4,500 crore worth of incentives, some of which have been stuck since 2016.
“Industrial lands left unused without justification will be reclaimed, and action will be taken against unauthorized occupation. Additionally, we are reviewing the Industrial Health Clinic to support struggling businesses, and if it proves effective, additional funds will be allocated,” he stated.
Referring to investment agreements secured during the World Economic Forum in Davos, he pointed out that of the 18 MoUs signed last year, 17 are already in progress, with 10 crossing the 50% implementation mark.
“This year, we secured investments worth ?1.8 lakh crore. Unlike the opposition, which spreads misinformation, we are ensuring these agreements materialize into real opportunities for Telangana’s people,” he remarked.
Taking a swipe at the opposition, Sridhar stated, “When we were in the opposition, we never blocked industrial growth. Now, some politicians are misleading people instead of supporting development. Our focus remains on Telangana’s progress, and we will continue to implement effective policies, including those introduced by the BRS government to sustain growth.”
Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Centillion Networks Chairman & MD Venkat, Director Radha Kishore, India Operations Head Sudhakar and other industry leaders attended the press conference.
