BJP Vice-President DK Aruna said that Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and Assembly Secretary V. Narasimhacharyulu were not available when she came to the Assembly with a copy of the High Court verdict on the Gadwal Assembly constituency.

Recently, the Telangana High Court ordered that DK Aruna should be considered the Gadwal MLA in place of BRS MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy.

It may be recalled that Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy of the BRS represented the constituency till August 24, 2023.On August 24, 2023, the Telangana High Court set aside the election of Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy as he had submitted a false affidavit. The incumbent MLA is DK Aruna.

Speaking to the media, DK Aruna said, “I came to give a copy of the judgement delivered by the High Court against the Gadwal MLA to the Secretary of the Assembly. But both the Speaker and the Secretary were absent. On Thursday I spoke to them. I also gave a message that I was coming. But the Secretary says that he went to have a meeting with the Speaker. We have left a copy of the order in the Speaker’s Chamber. The judgment should be implemented using the powers vested in the Speaker. The verdict was delivered on August 24. Both were absent when I came to meet the Speaker with a copy of the HC order.”

“Had this judgment come four years ago, I would have had a chance to develop my constituency. But this judgment came too late. There is a suspicion that there may be any pressure from the government on the Assembly Secretary. It is sad that both of them were not there even though they were informed in advance,” Aruna added.

The BJP’s Dubbaka MLA, M. Raghunandan Rao, said that the verdict declared DK Aruna as the MLA of Gadwal constituency. “We will meet the Chief Electoral Officer on Monday. The verdict in Aruna’s case should be implemented. There is a need to protect democracy,” said Raghunandan.
