Reacting to the Congress criticism against the BJP regarding the ED raids on Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, the BJP’s Medak MP, M. Raghunandan Rao, said on Friday that Ponguleti would come out smelling of roses if he had not committed any offences.
Raghunandan said that the law is taking its own course and that ED raids are not taking place in Ponguleti’s residence for the first time. There were ED raids earlier regarding his son’s watches issue, he said and added that the BJP has nothing to do with the ED raids on Ponguleti.
Targeting former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Raghunandan said that Jagan is saying that YSRCP leaders are throwing mud on the BJP as Jagan is not in a position to sign the declaration at Tirumala.
He said that it is in the Constitution that people of other religions should sign a declaration before entering Hindu temples. Persons of other religions have to wear a cap and kerchief when entering mosques and in the same manner one should sign the declaration when entering Hindu temples, he said.
