Health Minister launches Indira Mahila Sakti scheme

Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha, along with Minister for Forests, on launched Indira Mahila Sakti at a programme held at Sangareddy Collectorate on Wednesday and inaugurated a canteen started by women’s groups. Later, he distributed Indira Mahila Sakti loans tobeneficiaries. Later, DamodarRaja Narasimha and Konda Surekha reviewed implementation of six guarantees and the working of various government departments.
Addressing the officials on the occasion, Health Minister said that there was delay in implementation of the welfare and development schemes as the new government had to face LS elections within seven months of coming to power.
The government gave superior powers to mining, irrigation, excise, revenue, electricity and other departments so that these departments provide corruption-free administration and generate revenue for the government.
The Telangana government will deal with illegal mining with a heavy hand, he said exhorting the officials to discharge their duties responsibly.
The Minister reviewed the progress of implementation of six guarantees, activities of departments of medical and health, municipal, excise, panchayat raj, education, drinking water, loan waiver, distribution of new crop loans, Gruha Jyoti scheme, problems of weavers, RTC bus services, municipaland Mission Bhagiradha scheme. He also reviewed Vana Mahotsavam scheme and land acquisition for NIMZ.
He asked the officials to work in the direction of ensuring that the fruits of various welfare and development schemes, implemented in the state by seven-month-old Congress regime, trickle down to the people.
To implement the six guarantees, the officials should review the progress on monthly or bi-monthly basis to prepare notes on what should be done to the people and implement the guarantees.
A task force committee has been constituted in the district to take stern action against illegal mining activity. He wanted the officials to take action against encroachment of government lands.
He suggested closely monitoring of the working of the medical and health department personnel to rule out any inconvenience to the patients.
Minister Konda Surekha suggested to officials to take steps to plant saplings that are useful to temples in temple lands as part of Vana Mahotsavam. She called for surveying of endowment lands and fix boundaries to prevent encroachment of the temple lands by vested interests.
It is the duty of the officials to take government schemes to the masses, she said exhorting them to ensure that the benefits of the govt schemes are extended to the eligible persons without misusing the funds.
TGIDC chairman Nirmala Jaggareddy, MPs Raghunandan Rao and Suresh Shetkar, MLC Yadava Reddy, MLAs Chinta Manik Rao and Sanjiva Reddy, DCCB president Chitti Devender Reddy, Additional Collector Chandrasekhar and others were present.
