Edupayala temple closed

Sri Vana Durga Bhavani Temple at Edupayala has been inundated and the authorities have closed it as the Manjeera River is spate in Medak district. The priests performed puja at Rajagopuram.
There are heavy inflows into the Singur project following incessant rains for the last two days. The undivided Medak district recorded 10 cm of rainfall. The tanks and rivulets in the undivided district are in spate. The Ghanpur (Vanadurga) project is brimming with water.
In Siddipet district, the police appealed to the people to take all precautions with tanks and rivulets overflowing. Police Commissioner N Swtha urged the people not to venture into overflowing water bodies.
The police, in coordination with the officials of the Revenue Services and Irrigation Department, are diverting the traffic from the areas which have been inundated with rainwater. Traffic on the Siddipet-Warangla highway was diverted with Moyathummeda stream was overflowing. The traffic towards Warangal was diverted through Basapur-Koreddypally road. The traffic to Siddipet from Warangal was diverted through Lakshmpur-Koreddypallya and Basavapur roads.
With rains lashing the undivided district of Medak for the last two days, the people remained indoors. Traffic was disrupted in several areas. The officials of the Revenue and Irrigation, in coordination with the police, are
on high alert.
