The AP State Disaster Management Authority forecast heavy to very heavy rains to Andhra Pradesh in the next three days.
In a statement here on SDMA Managing Director Dr.B R Ambedkar said that heavy to very heavy rains may occur for the next three days in the State. Farmers, labourers working at the fields and cattle-shepherds should not stay under trees during thunderstorms as there is a chance of lightning striking on trees.
He advised the people and farmers to be alert and take appropriate precautions.
Heavy rains are likely to occur in Parvathipuram Anyam, Alluri Sitaramaraju, Krishna, Guntur, Palnadu, Bapatla, Nellore, Tirupati, Annamayya, YSR districts on July 3.
Heavy rain is expected at scattered places in Parvathipuram Manyam, Alluri Sitaramaraju, West Godavari, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Palnadu, Bapatla, Prakasam, Nellore, YSR and Nandyala districts. Scattered light showers are likely in the rest of the districts on July 4.
Scattered rains are likely to occur in Parvathipuram agency reas, Vijayanagaram, Anakapalli, Alluri Sitaramaraju, Kakinada, Eluru, NTR, Palnadu, Bapatla, Prakasam, Sri Sathyasai, Anantapur, Kurnool and Nandyal districts. Light showers are likely to occur in the rest of the districts on July 5, Ambedkar said.
Meanwhile the Meteorological Centre weather report said strong winds with speeds of 30–40 kmph are likely to occur at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema during the same period.
