Heavy rains, hail likely for 3 more days in TS, AP

The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre said that there is a possibility of the Telugu States getting heavy rains accompanied by hail for three more days.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre said that thunderstorms and winds of 40 to 50 kmph are likely.

The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre said that an uncertain trough is looming over West Vidarbha and Marathwada and from North Interior Karnataka to South Interior Karnataka at a height of 1.5 km above mean sea level.

Due to this Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and South Karnataka will get heavy rains and thunderstorms accompanied by hail.

The Meteorological Centre also said that Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh would also get heavy rains.

Heavy rains lashed Ameerpet, Panjagutta, Banjara Hills, Kukatpally, Balanagar, Jeedimetla, Suraram, Suchitra, Dil Sukh Nagar, Kottapet, Karman Ghat, Champapet, Boinpally and Tirumalgiri on Monday evening.

Many colonies faced problems due to flooding. Power supply was disrupted at some places. There were traffic jams in many areas like Tirumalgiri, Ameerpet, Balanagar and Kukatpally.

Heavy rains led to full traffic jams on main roads. There was a traffic jam on the Uppal–Warangal National Highway at Boduppal due to heavy waterlogging. Motorists were affected by traffic jams on the Vijayawada–Hyderabad route too.
