Whenever we talk about films in Bollywood, our main focus has always been on actors and actresses. But now there has been a shift in the industry. Now we have started recognising the hard work and efforts of the directors behind the films. Directors are the makers of the story, they are the ones who visualize and narrate how the character, story and everything in the movie will look and perform. 

Now in this modern era of filmmaking, films are also named and promoted on their name. Every director has a unique style of storytelling and a unique genre that they are masters of.  2022 has been a great year and some great stories have been there and some great directors. 

Let’s look at a few notable directors that one should look out for 

Ram Madhvani
Filmmaker Ram Madhvani is known for directing films like Neerja, Dhamaka and the web show Aarya. He is known for his unconventional style of filmmaking, a 360-degree approach. The director is currently working on the Third season of Aarya, which was nominated at the International Emmy awards. Fans and viewers are early waiting for the 3rd season of the show to see what more Ram Madhvani has to showcase and how they are taking the series one notch up. There are high expectations from the director as he has done a marvellous job with one of the best series of the year. 

Gurmeet Singh and Anand Iyer
Gurmeet Singh and Anand Iyer through their appreciable direction in Mirzapur have twice won audiences’ hearts and have made them eagerly wait for the third season. Mirzapur in its genre has been a series that has kept audiences hooked after two seasons and there is a lot of anticipation built on the 3rd season as the directors have not disappointed twice before. The fans are expecting more drama and thrill in the third season. It’s one of the most awaited series in its genre. 

Raj & DK
Raj & DK have made one of the finest series on OTT with Manoj Bajpayee, The Family Man. The show has garnered love and appreciation for both seasons and has been a massive hit. It will be great to watch what next Raj and DK have under their hood to show us. The series is set to go on the floor in 2023 and fans can’t keep calm for the next season to come up. It will be exciting to see the new drama and action storyline Raj and DK are coming up with.

Rohit Shetty
Rohit Shetty is one of the most recognised film directors of Hindi cinema. His movies are often based on mixed genres of action and comedy, and he is known for his cop universe. The director earlier this year announced a cop series for an OTT platform “Indian Police Force”.  It will be great to watch Rohit Shetty’s depictions of the cop drama in the form of a series. How does he play with the characters and where will the storyline go? Fans are waiting for the director to drop the trailer of the show and are expecting nothing less from the director. 

Richie Mehta
Richie Mehta the Canadian film director who has won awards for his first feature film, Amal, has kept us hooked to the Indian crime drama “Delhi Crime”. The director wrote and directed all the episodes of the series and has won many accolades for his spectacular direction. The series was a huge hit and made its place in audiences’ hearts. The director, with his precision and grace, delivers a good balance and a refreshing thriller that examines the true crime tragedy around the city. It will be worth the wait for the audience to watch what next Richie has in store for the audience in 2023.
