The world is full of surprises and adventures, and Hina Khan feels it to be a shame not to explore that. From the very time, she acquired fame — the popular television actress accepts the vast knowledge every town has to offer her, and every month she’s making beautiful memories out of it. Sometimes with family, sometimes with her beau, Hina’s traveling always excites us! Not long ago, she visited the Maldives and despite visiting it for numerous times: she still feels an unknown there.

“I love to travel, and there is a reason for it. It is like spirituality— if you are in the messy structure of the world we live in, a planned voyage awakes you and helps you to meet your true self. This habit of traveling has become the routine of my life. I just pack my bags and leave! The other aspect is: when I faced racism and elitism in foreign countries.

Even as a well-known actress, in such situations I feel powerless. Its impact weakens you somewhere down the line. I believe in equality and when I faced racial bias — it was heartbreaking.”

Not just racism, as mentioned above, Hina Khan also faced elitism which she never manifested for herself on an enjoyable trip. She recalls, “Well, even in the 21st century — I am surprised couldn’t past this storm. Be an elite, don’t be an elitist. There’s a difference between the two. The sense of condescension is intimidating and unacceptable.”

While in the conversation, we learned an unknown revelation about Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai fame that she just can’t travel solo! “I fear traveling solo. Solo travels are not my cup of tea, probably ever. I always have a travel buddy. I have heard horrible solo experiences that don’t allow me to open the door of adventure alone. It’s all about trust, and I just don’t have faith in strangers.”

One of her most favourite places, Istanbul took her heart away. For example, she shared, “The Roman empire made the place legendary for me. I had the luxury of crossing the waters and cruising. The blue ceramics over there will attract you to death! As a Muslim, just couldn’t hold myself back from trying be it the mezes or kebabs.”

Another very interesting facet about #hinakhantravels is the way she interacts with her tour guide: “As we continue to share our experiences, it’s always been that my friendship with the tour guide strengthens at every foreign country. We discuss so much of cultural and social differences that it keeps us engaged most of the time! So chivalrous, they forge their friendship in the most comfortable manner with me.”
