Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha has inaugurated e-Aushadhi Workshop at MCRHRD on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Raja Narasimha said that the health department plays a crucial role in people’s daily lives. “We have suggestions from staff and officials in consideration and efforts are underway to provide necessary HR and equipment support,” he said.
Central Medical Stores have been set up in all districts and vehicles have been arranged for distribution of medicine. Computers and internet facilities are now available in CMS and pharmacy stores.
“Despite efforts to supply all required medicines, reports of shortages persist. Hospital superintendents and higher authorities must identify the causes of medicine shortages.
Strict action will be taken against negligent staff or officials responsible for any lapses.
The government is taking this issue seriously and will impose stringent measures if patients face difficulties,” said the Health Minister.
Three-member committees will be established in each district for regular monitoring of medicine availability. These committees will include the District DMHO, DCHS and Superintendent of the local teaching hospital. Pharmacists are encouraged to report issues to these committees for resolution.
The workshop was attended by Health Secretary Christina, Commissioner RV Karnan, TGMSSIDC MD Hemant and Director of Public Health Ravinder Naik.
