Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha visited Simhachalam on Sunday to inspect the preparations for the Chandanotsavam festival at Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, scheduled for April 30. Accompanied by District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad, Commissioner of Police Shankabratha Bagchi, and Simhachalam Devasthanam officials, she reviewed key arrangements for the event.
During her visit, Anitha inspected queue lines, amenities for devotees, and provisions like drinking water, toilets, medical kiosks, Annadanam, and prasadams. Concerned about the rising temperatures, she inquired about heatwave-related measures to ensure visitor comfort.
The Minister also focused on security, reviewing the deployment of police personnel, CCTV coverage, traffic control, and transportation arrangements. She anticipates that around 2 lakh devotees will attend this year, with a significant increase in temple footfall during the festival season.
Anitha assured the public that special measures would be taken for the elderly, women with infants, and differently-abled individuals. Additionally, fans and hand-pankhas would be distributed to help devotees cope with the heat, while provisions such as milk, buttermilk, and prasadams will be available along the queue lines. Authorities are confident that the meticulous preparations will ensure a smooth and safe Chandanotsavam for all attendees.
