The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) organised a one-day training programme on water harvesting pits construction for city residents and plumbers. The training session took place at the Rain Water Harvesting Theme Park in Jubilee Hills on Thursday.
The Water Board has already conducted a three-day training session last month on the construction of water harvesting pits. However, individuals who were unable to attend then had the option to register online. Approximately 30 such registrants received the training.
Special Officer of Rainwater Harvesting, Jala Satyanarayana, mentioned that the training is being coordinated by the Water Board, GHMC, HMDA and the CDMA. He said, representatives from various voluntary organisations underwent training last month, and since then, they have been conducting awareness programmes in several areas.
He also said, the participants were provided with instructions into the structure, importance and value of water harvesting pits through a power-point presentation. All plumbers have pledged to ensure proper installation of pits in their future works.
