BRS Working President KT Rama Rao came down heavily on the Congress Government and challenged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to conduct a 15-day Assembly session to debate public issues, including farm loan waivers, weaver problems and governance failures.
Speaking at a meeting of BRS workers from the Kodangal constituency at the Telangana Bhavan, KTR emphasized that the government should focus on public welfare, not vindictive politics.
“If Revanth has any guts, let him conduct the Assembly for 15 days to discuss the problems faced by farmers, weavers, auto-rick drivers and students. We are ready to debate all issues, including his allegations of scams and the controversial Formula-E event,” KTR said.
Cabinet meetings are held not to decide whom to arrest, but to discuss people’s issues, he said.
Lashing out at the Congress’s failure to fulfil its promises, KTR accused Revanth of deceiving people with false assurances during Assembly elections.
“Revanth made grandiose promises during the campaign but failed to implement even basic ones like farm loan waivers. Not even 30% of loans have been waived. Let him prove otherwise in Kondareddipalli, his own village,” KTR challenged.
He predicted that Revanth’s downfall would begin from Lagcherla and praised former MLA Patnam Narendra Reddy for standing
firm as a leader. “Our leader Narendra Reddy has become a symbol of resistance against Revanth’s authoritarianism. His fight is not for his bail but for the farmers of Lagcherla. The BRS will stand by him and the farmers until justice is served,” KTR declared.
KTR accused Revanth Reddy’s family of orchestrating land grabs under the pretext of industrial development.
“The Congress Government cancelled the Pharma Village plan only to introduce a new drama in the name of an industrial corridor. The lands being grabbed in Kodangal are not for industries but for the Chief Minister’s family and Adani,” he alleged.
Highlighting the police’s role in suppressing farmers, KTR criticized the administration for arresting farmers and BRS activists. “Police must immediately release the arrested farmers and our workers. The BRS will not allow Lagcherla to be forgotten. We will raise this issue every day in the Assembly,” KTR warned.
Taking a jibe at Revanth Reddy’s governance, KTR said, “Cabinet meetings are not meant to discuss arrests but to serve the public. Revanth must remember that governance is about solving people’s problems, not creating them.”
KTR assured Kodangal BRS workers that the party would stand firmly against Congress’s atrocities.
“We will fight for farmers and the people of Lagcherla. Revanth Reddy’s misrule will not intimidate us,” he said, reiterating that the BRS would continue to expose the government’s failures.
