Must read

Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha visited the Government Child Home for Girls to assess the current situation and interact with the residents. During her visit, the Minister checked on the welfare of the 56 girls housed in the facility, some of whom hail from other states and are as young as toddlers. She assured them of the government’s commitment to their safety and development.
Speaking to reporters, the Minister revealed that two girls were recently returned to their families, while another two relocated to nearby girls’ homes. Alongside academics, the girls are receiving vocational training to promote self-reliance. She noted that some residents are experiencing mental health challenges, and the government is ensuring proper medical supervision for those in need.
In a sharp critique of opposition parties, the Home Minister accused them of politicizing sensitive issues involving children. She stressed that the relocation of girls is done legally, based on court orders, and reaffirmed the government’s dedication to protecting vulnerable children. “We know our responsibilities and are committed to safeguarding these children. There is no need for external reminders,” she said.
The Minister also addressed allegations and misinformation allegedly spread by the opposition. She highlighted inaccuracies on platforms such as YSRCP’s Twitter account and accused them of misleading the public with lies over the last five years. “Those who have committed wrongdoings will be held accountable. The people are watching,” she remarked.
Touching upon broader political issues, Anitha expressed dissatisfaction with the handling of the Ramatheertham case, citing confusion between the roles of the accused and witnesses. She criticised the opposition’s governance record and baseless remarks on the state’s participation in events like Davos. The visit reinforced the government’s proactive approach to addressing key issues while taking a firm stance against political adversaries.
