The ‘Jagananna Suraksha’ programme, a massive 30-day initiative, commenced across the State on Saturday, providing numerous beneficiaries with hassle-free access to updated documents at no cost.

Speaking at a press conference in Tadepalli, Social Welfare Minister Merugu Nagarjuna, accompanied by MLC Marri Rajasekhar, emphasised that this campaign is a testament to the unwavering commitment of Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government to ensure that “No citizen is left behind’ when it comes to the benefits of government schemes and policies.

Minister Nagarjuna said that the brainchild behind this state-of-the-art initiative is CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, who aims to encompass 100% of the population within the government’s welfare schemes and services.

“Our government has successfully fulfilled 99% of our manifesto promises. We are determined to include those who may have been inadvertently excluded from our social welfare schemes due to technical issues under Jagananna’s security net. This campaign aims to provide robust security coverage for all,” he stated. Minister Nagarjuna further elaborated on the government’s intentions behind launching this extensive programme to reach 1.06 crore households in the State. “Our objective is to actively engage with each individual, understand their concerns, and proactively address them. We strive to deliver the best possible benefits to every resident in the state and ensure prompt resolution of any issues they may have,” he added.

MLC Marri Rajasekhar highlighted the unique nature of this campaign, where the government is taking its services directly to the doorsteps of the people, rather than expecting them to visit government offices. “This initiative aims to provide documents and certificates to individuals without the inconvenience of visiting government offices,” he explained.

“This people-centric programme operates with complete transparency, leaving no room for corruption. People have the right to demand their certificates and have them sanctioned on the spot,” Rajasekhar said.

Explaining the rationale behind launching the campaign in July, MLC Rajasekhar noted that it coincides with the upcoming college admissions season, enabling students to obtain the necessary updated documents for admissions, access hostel facilities, scholarships, and other benefits. He also mentioned that the beneficiary lists for various welfare schemes would be revised in the coming months, preferably in August, making it advisable for citizens to promptly apply for schemes and documents under this program.

On the first day, camps were organised in 1,305 Sachivalayams across the State, covering 175 Assembly constituencies. Footage from various Sachivalayams showcased a significant number of people turning up at the camps to receive cost-free documents.

Nagalakshmi from Yellamanchili mandal, Anakapalli, expressed her gratitude as she obtained her caste certificate from her nearest Sachivalayam. “The ‘Jagananna Suraksha’ programme has been a blessing for me, as I could acquire my caste certificate within a day. I am delighted that I can now apply for various welfare schemes,” she said.

The overwhelming turnout at the ‘Jagananna Suraksha’ camps on the first day underscores the widespread acceptance and popularity of the campaign, as well as the leadership of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. It reflects the public’s unwavering confidence in the YSRCP government’s ability to effectively address and resolve their concerns.

The ‘Suraksha’ campaign will continue for one month, with camps being set up in a phased manner across 15,004 Sachivalayams, offering services for one day each.
