Hyderabad wakes up to heavy rainfall on sunday.

Rains lashed the city with heavy dowpour and winds, with almost invisibility due to thuderstorms from early morning hours.

As per the IMD, rains were caused due to cyclonic circulations over Bay of Bengal and troughs over Vidarbha and coastal Andhra Pradesh.

As per the Telangana State Development and Planning, highest rain in the state was recorded at Mahbubbahar at 153.5 mm, followed by Rangareddy at 141.8 mm and Suryapet at 135 mm.

In the city limits, Marredpally received the highest rainfall of 42 mm, followed by Musheerabad at 37 mm and Secunderabad at 34 mm.

Weather enthusiast T Balaji posted a weather warning on Twitter that massive chain of storms was forming at Jagitial, Sircilla, Kamareddy, and Siddipet, which would lead to on and off heavy rains in the city till afternoon.
