Ashwini Dutt: Thank you! Yes, we anticipated this level of success, but it’s always heartening to see the audience embrace the film across all regions.
Q: Nag Ashwin’s previous works were known for their depth. When did you realise he could handle such a grand narrative?
Ashwini Dutt: We’ve known Nag Ashwin since his debut. From the beginning, I saw his potential to handle ambitious projects. He has a unique vision and I’ve always trusted his creative instincts.
Q: Amitabh Bachchan’s portrayal in the film has garnered much praise. How did you feel seeing him in such a significant role?
Ashwini Dutt: Amitabh Bachchan is a legend and his performance was outstanding. It was a surreal experience to see him bring his character to life on screen.
Q: The concept of the bujji (car) in the film was quite innovative. How did that idea come about?
Ashwini Dutt: That was entirely Nag Ashwin’s vision. When he presented the concept to me, I was fascinated by how well it was integrated into the narrative. It added a unique flavour to the film.
Q: With such success, can we expect a sequel to Kalki 2898 AD?
Ashwini Dutt: Absolutely! The decision for a sequel was finalised after Kamal Haasan joined the project. His character opens up exciting possibilities for the next installment.
Q: When can audiences expect Kalki 2898 AD Part 2 to hit the screens?
Ashwini Dutt: We are looking at a release sometime next year around this time for Part 2.
