Ayesha Khan is currently having her limelight days! When the makers of Vishwak Sen’s Gangs of Godavari released their second single, Motha, we all observed the latest Bigg Boss superstar suddenly making a name for herself in Telugu films. We were astounded by a delightful surprise.
M.M.Manasi sings Motha, a popular dance song with a rustic melody and powerful bass-driven sounds. Ayesha, who is on a new journey to become the next trendy and happening actress in Tinseltown, spilled the beans during an exclusive interview with The Pioneer.
“What could be better than having my first special song written by Chandrabose, the most popular composer? I looked into him and discovered how he adds a particular flavour to all of the Telugu songs that are becoming chartbusters in Tollywood! I have witnessed the great amount of appreciation he receives throughout the twin states. However, the cultural insights he wrote for Motha made it much more remarkable,” Ayesha thought of the Academy Award winner Chandrabose, who wrote the lyrics for Motha.
The junior artist turned lead actress adds, “However, language was becoming a barrier for me. Bhanu Master helped me understand the lines. I had to memorise the lyrics (she laughed). I was a pain on the Gangs of Godavari sets because I was so obsessed with questioning the entire team about the meaning of every line (she giggles again). If not, I wouldn’t have been able to make those seductive expressions with Vishwak!”
Taking center stage and dancing her heart out in Motha, Ayesha realised, “Working on a special song in Tollywood was a lot of joy. I didn’t expect it to be so festive! After each shot, I looked into my choreographer’s eyes for approval. I merely wanted him to admire my shot, which fired me up on the sets of Gangs of Godavari! His expressions will tell you whether I’ve mastered the step or need to improve.”

The film Gangs of Godavari, starring Vishwak Sen, has been in production for quite some time. And then Ayesha remembers, “I was absolutely confident that there would be no chemistry issues between Vishwak and I—we didn’t even rehearse together. We met on the day of the shoot. Can you believe it? We did not have to “prepare” for that chemistry! I’m hoping to share screen space with Vishwak Sen anytime soon. I won’t forget to add that I said “yes” to Motha because I was appearing opposite Vishwak!” Furthermore, “the energetic and strong composition of the song was another factor that influenced me to say yes and shake a leg in Motha. I recall listening to the song and knowing right away that it was going to trend.”
More on the popular and catchy song, Balveer Returns fame explains, “The complete song is still not in the film as the audiences must have already noticed; however, it’s going to be released on YouTube soon because there’s more of that “gruff” avatar.” Even she agrees with us and says, “Indeed, I am new to the Telugu language, but I have placed all of my expectations in the Telugu film industry. I want to keep going back to Tollywood movies!”
She also has a nice memory of Motha happening in an urgent manner: “I immediately flew down to Hyderabad. So at first, I felt pressured because no one had ever expected me to dance to a special song, let alone in a regional language! I can’t wait to show the audience this step when the whole song is out. Now, I have a back issue, and that step required a lot of core strength. So I’m glad that I was able to complete that without any scheduling delays.”
On a closing note, the potentially forthcoming sensation in the South Indian industry, Ayesha Khan, adds, “I understand that doing Motha was a risky choice for me, but as soon as the song came to me, I was excited to explore this aspect of myself as well! In addition, I’d love to sign a full-fledged commercial movie. So, fingers crossed!” Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya produced the film. Krishna Chaitanya, a writer-director, is helming the film!
