Ilaiyaraaja and Keeravani join hands for a film

Yes, you heard it right. Two musical legends, Ilaiyaraaja and MM Keeravani, have come together for a film, but not as co-composers. Instead, their collaboration takes on a unique form in the upcoming movie Shashtipurthi. Directed by Pavan Prabha, the film features veteran actor Rajendra Prasad in a key role, with Roopesh playing the lead. National Award-winning actress Archana also stars alongside Rajendra Prasad, marking their reunion on screen after 38 years since their iconic film Ladies Tailor.
Music maestro Ilaiyaraaja is composing the soundtrack for Shashtipurthi, while Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani has contributed by penning the lyrics for a song titled Edo Ye Janmalodo, which is set to release soon.
Director Pavan Prabha expressed his excitement, stating, “There are five songs in the film. Chaitanya Prasad has written lyrics for four of them, while Keeravani Garu graciously wrote the lyrics for the fifth. We were fortunate that Keeravani Garu had some spare time in Chennai and was kind enough to contribute. This song is especially significant as it represents the coming together of Ilaiyaraaja Garu and Keeravani Garu.”
Producer Rupesh Chowdary shared his elation, calling this collaboration the best thing to happen for his film.
