Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) Commissioner HM Dhyanachandra has mandated that officials enhance the city’s Animal Birth Control (ABC) operations. He underscored the importance of upgrading surgical equipment and implementing necessary measures to streamline the ABC processes.
On Tuesday, Commissioner Dhyanachandra paid a visit to the ABC operation centre and the bio-methanisation plant situated at the garbage transfer station in Ajith Singh Nagar. He provided specific guidance to the officials regarding the ABC initiatives.
At the bio-methanisation plant, Dhyanachandra sought information about the power generation process utilising vegetable waste. Prior to this, he inspected the Anna Canteen in Ajith Singh Nagar and engaged with the public to assess the quality of the food. He instructed officials to uphold hygiene standards across all Anna Canteens in the city.
Additionally, he requested that officials take measures to establish a shelter for the public’s convenience at the Anna Canteen. He emphasised the importance of conducting unannounced inspections to ensure food quality.
The Commissioner oversaw de-silting operations at the Dabakotlu Centre in Ajith Singh Nagar and provided specific instructions to the de-silting crew. He directed officials and staff to eliminate any encroachments that may be obstructing the drainage system.
Accompanying him were VMC Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Suresh, Superintending Engineer (Projects) P Satyakumari, Executive Engineer Srinivas Reddy, Assistant Medical and Health Officer Dr Babu Srinivas, Vehicle Depot in charge EE Yesupadam, and Zonal Commissioner Prabhudas, among others.
