Shailaja Ramaiyer, State Principal Secretary of the Endowments Department, held a special meeting with Joginis at the office of the Endowments department on Thursday. This was the first time the government held such a meeting with the Joginis, who unanimously agreed to fully cooperate with the government’s measures.
On the occasion of Ashada Masam Bonalu, Shailaja Ramaiyer appealed to everyone to practice self-restraint during the grand celebration of the Ujjaini Mahankali Jatara in Secunderabad on July 21 and 22. Authorities stressed the importance of maintaining law and order and informed the Joginis that only five persons, including Joginis and Shivashaktis, would be permitted.
Additional CP Vikramsingh Mann, North Zone DCP Rashmi Perumal, State Endowments Department Commissioner M Hanumanth Rao and Hyderabad District Collector Anudeep Durishetty attended the meeting. They requested the Joginis and Shivashaktis bringing Bonams for the festival to arrive at the Bata Chowrasta from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm.
They praised the role of Joginis in the Bonalu Jatara, which has given Telangana a unique recognition. They also announced that eatery pushcarts would be closed at midnight.
To ensure a grand celebration of the Mahankali Jatara, robust security, drinking water facilities, and queue lines have been arranged.
Joginis Shyamala, Vaishnavi, Radhika, Vennela, Visakha, Shruti, Kranti, and others spoke at the meeting, expressing their gratitude for the opportunity and agreeing to cooperate with the government.
