-Minister for Excise V Srinivas Goud directed the officials to divert rainwater to tanks to prevent inundation of low-lying area

In view of incessant rains for the last three days, the drone, which was scheduled to be held on June 23, was postponed to July 28, according to Minister for Prohibition and Excise V Srinivas Goud on Friday.
The Minister visited the low-lying areas to gain first-hand information about the problems being faced by people. The Ganesh Nagar and Errakunta areas are vulnerable to inundation. The Minister directed the officials to monitor the situation and evacuate the people, if necessary, to relief camps.
Srinivas Goud further said that heavy rains are likely to continue in the next two to three days. The drone show was postponed because 450 drones cannot fly simultaneously. He appealed to people to attend the drone show, which will be held at Tank Bund on July 28 and make it a success.
Meanwhile, the Minister braved the heavy rain and visited several areas, including Tank Bund, at midnight on Thursday. He directed the District Collector that people do not face any problems due to heavy downpour for the last three days. He summoned the officials of the Irrigation and Municipality and asked them to focus on the safety of the people. He directed the officials to evacuate the people from low-lying areas, if necessary, to relief camps. He suggested to the officials that they divert the rainwater to tanks to ensure the low-lying areas are not inundated. He asked the people to keep the sandbags ready to plug breaches in vulnerable tanks. He visited several areas braving heavy rains for two hours.
The Minister was accompanied by District Collector G Ravi Nayak, District Superintendent of Police Narasimha, Additional Collector Venkatesh Dotre, Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Kumar and engineering officials were present.
