The 78th Independence Day celebrations were held with great enthusiasm on Thursday at the Kongarakalan Integrated District Office Complex in Rangareddy district. The event, which took place in a festive atmosphere, was marked by extensive arrangements made by the district administration.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Chief Minister’s Advisor (Public Affairs) Vem Narender Reddy, who unfurled the National Flag and received a salute from the police. Accompanied by city dignitaries and non-officials, Vem Narender Reddy extended Independence Day greetings and addressed the gathering, sharing the progress report of the district.
Following the flag hoisting ceremony, Vem Narender Reddy inaugurated stalls representing various departments, including industries, rural development, agriculture, horticulture, civil supplies, and electricity. He also presented certificates of appreciation to employees who had rendered outstanding services. Additionally, financial assistance under various government schemes was distributed to beneficiaries.
The highlight of the celebrations was the cultural performances by enthusiastic children, which captivated the audience. These performances, designed to instill patriotism and enhance national spirit, were well-received. Students from Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya School Kadtal, Akshara International School LBnagar, Delhi Public School Nadergul, Children’s Homes Turkyanjal, and Zilla Parishad High School Tukkuguda showcased impressive dances, earning special recognition from the chief guest, other dignitaries, and district officials.
Member of Legislative Council Akula Vijaya Narsimha Reddy, Members of Legislative Assembly Mal Reddy Rangareddy and Veerlapalli Shankar, District Collector Amoy Kumar Sashanka, Additional District Collector Pratima Singh, Maheshwaram Deputy Commissioner of Police Sunitha Reddy, District Revenue Officer Sangeeta, and other public representatives, officers, staff, and students were present.
