The city of Hyderabad witnessed the successful completion of the third edition of Inorbit Durgam Cheruvu Run (IDCR) 2023 powered by Alt Life a brand from Shoppers Stop that had over 6000 registrations this year. This marked a 100% increase over last year’s 3200 participants. The first three winners of the half marathon were James Kipleting Korir, Het Ram, and Ramavath Ramesh Chandra. As for the 10km run, the fastest runners were Hukam Hukam, Dipak Suhaug, and Lakshmeesha C S.
The 21 Km run was flagged off from Inorbit Mall, Hyderabad on Sunday early morning in the presence of Ronald Rose, IAS Secretary of Finance and Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Societies, Government of Telangana, Shrawan Gone, Chief Operating Officer, Telangana and AP, K Raheja Corporation.
10 K Run was flagged off by Jayesh Ranjan, IAS Principal Secretary of Industries, Commerce and Information Technology, Government of Telangana, Shankaraiah, Zonal Commissioner, Serilingampally, Hyderabad; Amarnath Reddy, Chief Relations Officer, IT Telangana, and Shrawan Kumar, ZM TSIIC.
The 5K Family run had over 3000 participants and was flagged off by M. Stephen Raveendra, IPS Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, K. Narayan Naik, IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police Traffic, Cyberabad, Shilpawali DCP L&O, Cyberabad; Shri Krishna Yedula, Secretary SCSC, Cyberabad Police were also present at the event.
IDCR is a run with a cause and this year the event has so far managed to raise a whopping sum of Rs 54 Lakhs. IDCR has partnered with NGO Nirmaan as its CSR partner. The proceeds #RunForInclusion will go towards providing skill development and employment opportunities for people with disabilities in the service sector.
This year, runners from 25+ corporates including put on their running shoes for the marathon with 850+ registrations from the IT Park Mindspace alone.
