Input subsidy for Erra Kaluva flood-affected soon: Durgesh

Must read

The Minister for Tourism and Culture, Kandula Durgesh, has announced that the input subsidy for farmers affected by the Erra Kaluva flood in Nidadavole will soon be released.
During the Collectors’ Conference on Wednesday, Durgesh raised the issue with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who promptly directed the Finance Department to expedite the process. The Minister thanked the Chief Minister for his swift intervention, which has cleared the way for the long-pending subsidy’s release. The input subsidy was initially promised to farmers who suffered significant losses due to heavy rains and floods in July 2024. Durgesh had repeatedly highlighted the matter in Cabinet meetings, ensuring it remained a priority until the current resolution.
“This decision brings much-needed relief to the farmers struggling due to flood-related crop losses,” Durgesh stated, reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting affected communities. The timely release of the subsidy is expected to alleviate financial burdens on farmers and aid in restoring agricultural activities in the flood-hit areas.
