Intensify BRS membership drive in M’rashtra from May 10: KCR

Must read

The BRS will create a boom in Maharashtra, the party’s president Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said.

“Political parties are worried about the increasing popularity of the BRS in Maharashtra. It is not an individual’s success. It is the strength of the slogan ‘Ab Ki Bar Kisan Sarkar.’ It is on the strength of this that many sitting MLAs are contacting me. Do you see what is going to happen in Maharashtra?” KCR said.

He held discussions with leaders from Maharashtra in the Telangana Bhavan on Tuesday. The strategy to be followed by the BRS in Maharashtra was also discussed at length. He called for taking the ‘Ab Ki Bar Kisan Sarkar’ slogan to every nook and corner of Maharashtra from May 10 to June 10.

He said that the appointment of district coordinators will be completed in two to three days.

“The party’s organisational structure will be finalised in the period from May 10 to June 10. Party membership registration should be completed by then. The organisational structure of the party should start from 288 constituency centres at the same time on the same day,” KCR said.

He said District Coordinators and leaders in their areas should focus on the party’s organisational structure and membership registration.

The organisational structure consists of village committees in rural areas and ward committees in urban/city areas. BRS-affiliated committees have nine committees including farmers, SC, ST, youth, women and students. The number of committee members in each committee is according to the population of the respective areas.

The appointment of in-charges in 288 Assembly constituencies in the six divisions of Maharashtra is almost complete. Party campaign materials (hats, flags, scarves, posters, leaflets etc.) will be sent constituency-wise.

“Our party programme should start from the statues of Shivaji and Ambedkar. Training camps for the constituencies of Maharashtra will be held on May 8 and 9 at the Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad. The charge for normal membership is Rs 10 and for active membership, it is Rs 50.

“Party posts will be given only to active members. Don’t forget that active membership is the first qualification for all positions from Sarpanch to MP,” KCR said.

“The BRS is booming in Maharashtra. Former MPs, former MLAs, ZP chairmen, block-level public representatives and many leaders have already joined the BRS. Some sitting MLAs are ready to come. Many people are contacting me,” the CM said.

“The BRS aims to win people’s hearts. We should not engage in personal criticism. The BRS’s self-reliance, determination, grit and integrity are outstanding. Let us not deviate from our goal. Individuals are not important but the party is important,” KCR said.

“The government has announced that the Kisan Sammanidhi will be increased as soon as BRS rule is established in Maharashtra. Now the government of Maharashtra has announced that the government is thinking about the Talati (VRA) system. These are the first victories of the BRS. If the BRS achieves two amazing victories before it completely lands in Maharashtra, what more can the BRS do if it comes to power? People should be told how to do it,” KCR said.

“Two victories are a sign that the Telangana Model will be implemented in Maharashtra if the BRS comes to power,” he added.
