As per the complaint of Manyam Sai Kumar (30), Medipally police rescued one baby girl along with three accused individuals and arrested three accused persons out of eleven on May 22. Following the interrogation with one of the accused, the police officials rescued 11 babies on Monday.
The accused A1) Shobarani, R/o: Peerzadiguda, Medipally A2) Hemalatha aka Swapna, R/o: Chengicherla, Medipally and A3) Shaik Saleem R/o: Peerzadiguda Medipally were arrested.
The remaining accused Kiran, Preethi, Kannaiah and others were found absconding. The police officials filed a case in Cr no. 579/2024 U/S 370,372,373 r/w 34 IPC,Sec 81.87,88 JJ Act-2015 of Medipally police station.
As per the confession by the accused Shobarani, it is stated that the culprits used to get the babies from Kiran and Preethi from Delhi and Kannaiah from Pune. In all, 50 babies were supplied to the accused persons who in turn gave them to their agents. The agents used to sell the babies to the persons who are in need of babies in AP and TS in different places with a price ranging from Rs 1,80,000 to Rs 5,50,000 per baby with the help of mediators.
The accused persons received nearly Rs 50,000 to Rs 1,00,000 for each baby as a profit in the process of selling. Till now, 11 babies were rescued from the accused in coordination with the CWC of whom two have been sent to Shishuvihar for safe custody.

Commissioner of Police, Malkajgiri Zone, Rachakonda and under supervision of S.Chakrapani, ACP Malkajgiri- Division. The following team is involved in the detection of cases. i.e. R.Govinda Reddy, SHO Medipally, B.Prabhakar Reddy, SIP, A.Narsing Rao, SIP, S.Anil Kumar, SIP and team of PS Medipally.
