INTERMEDIATE FIRST-YEAR EXAMINATIONS ‘Not even one minute’ rule proves to be testing time for students across TS

‘Not even one minute late’ rule proved to be a testing time for Intermediate first-year students across the state. Though some students made all efforts to reach in time but they could not make it to examination center due to “one minute late’ rule as they reached 5 to 15 minutes late. But the authorities did not allow them inside the examination hall citing one minute late rule. But some colleges took the matters into the hands and allowed students inside the examination center.
One of the lecturers of the government college told The Pioneer that “No politician comes in time… no employee comes in time. Even our lecturers will not come in time. However, this one minute late rule introduced due to Corporate colleges. The Corporate colleges leak papers to their students and those students come late to the center while reading answers. However, genuine students suffer in reality due to corporate colleges leaking question papers to their students. Now new trouble the colleges facing is from media. The media is making an issue if allowed or not allowed. So the colleges are following government rules”.
There are traffic snarls-up,  there are troubles in the homes of the students because all are not born with silver spoon in their mouth. There are troubles with buses and cabs…there are many other issues. Due to these issues, they are failing to reach in time.
Jyothy, a parent of intermediate first year student, questioned the intermediate board to tell how a girl student will reach in time if the examination center is allotted 6 kilometers away from her residence that too odd route East Marredpally.
“Girl students will have several problems that cannot be revealed in public. Exam is at 9 am. We faced lot of troubles to reach examination center. My child didn’t write exam very well  due to the tension with one minute late rule”, Jyothy told The Pioneer.
Assistant Professor Anand from Osmania University said that ‘one minute late’ rule is a barbaric rule. “If the students do not come to examination Hall in time…they have to lose their valuable one year.. what is this? Corporate colleges find new ways to leak question papers even the government implemented one minute late rule”, he said.
Despite the opposition form all quarters, the Telangana State Intermediate Board persisted in implementing “one minute” rule.
Venkat Reddy, another student’s father, told The Pioneer that one minute late rule has been mounting unwanted pressure on students as well as parents. Due to this rule, the students are concentrating thier mind on reaching examination center issue instead of the subject they are going to write.
Ramesh, an intermediate lecturer, opined that one minute late rule is a cruel one and it should be abolished immediately. The government has to take serious actions on paper leakers but not to punish the innocent fresh students if comes one minute late, he lamented. He said one or two students at each center comes late due to various reasons but not allowing them inside the examination Hall is atrocious one, he said. One year punishment to the students will lead to various troubles,
